As a massive fanboy of all things Indie, EGX Rezzed (I’m likely to refer to this as just ‘Rezzed’) holds a special place in my heart due to its continued devotion around highlighting Indie Games.
With massive rooms dedicated to Indie Games and Indie Game Publishers it really is moving in the right direction when it comes to promoting Indie Games.
Marry this with its rooms like the Leftfield Collection and its new room BAFTA Inside Games Arcade not only did you get to play some very well put together rounded games, but some very experimental and creative games too.
Of course no gaming event seems to be complete without some larger names dotted around and Rezzed was no exception, within the confinements of the Tobacco Docks you were able to find the likes of AreaNet, Blizzard, Microsoft and Playstation each with their own rooms where they got to show some of the Indie Games that they were helping or in the case of Blizzard and AreaNet their new upcoming launches.
So This year I decided to try something a little different, over the last few events I have attempted to play as many games as I could in the time available, and not always actually got to talk to the Developers themselves while doing this. I booked myself some time with the Devs to play their games and have a chat around their influences etc.
Over the next few days, maybe weeks I will be releasing – in order Games played – what I got to play, the teams / Devs I have met and what I felt about their games.
Also as a little bit of fun I decided to reward one of the games on show a certificate for the ‘Game of Show’ as well as one for The ‘Leftfield Collection Game of the Show’ So I’ll update you to who won these also as we look back over those Three Days of EGX Rezzed =)
